Marina Tankerkomerc, Veli Iz
Marina Veli Iž is open year round. It is located on the north-eastern coast of Iž Island, which is a small island in the Zadar Archipelago, between Dugi Otok Island on the south-west and Ugljan Island on the northeast. The area is surrounded by ten smaller uninhabited islands and islets featuring beautiful beaches and coves to explore. With a central position in the archipelago and close vicinity to the Kornati Islands, Iž can be a wonderful starting point for sailing routes in the Adriatic. Marina Veli Iž is a small but well sheltered marina on the southern side of the harbour. The 20 m long breakwater protects from all winds and waves.The busiest time of the season is in July and August.
Mooring: Marina Veli Iž has 50 wet berths and 150 dry berths, all of which are equipped with water and electricity. The marina can accommodate boats up to 20 m in length. The water depth in the marina ranges from 2 to 4 m.The marina is protected from all winds.
Sightseeing: The island of Iz is home to two villages: Veli Iz and Mali Iz. Located in front of the entrance of the harbor of Veli Iz, the island of Rutnjak is also a park. On the island you can visit a pre-Romanesque church from the 11th century, the fortified castle near the church.
Approach: When coming from the North,you must be careful of the shallow water. If approach the ng from north, it is advised to sail into the harbour in a wide arc, as the water is very shallow near the hotel. The small islet of Rutnjak is only half a mile east of the harbour.
Facilities include water and electricity hook ups, showers and toilets and an exchange office. Hull and engine repairs are possible, and the marina is equipped with a crane and slipway.
