ACI Marina Pomer

ACI Marina Pomer is open year round. It is located in the Medulin Bay, about 10 km from Pula, south of Pomer.

ACI Marina Pomer is on the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula, located in the deepest part of Medulin Bay. In 2016 the marina was largely renovated; the old buildings of the summer marina were removed and a new area on land was added.

Today, ACI Marina Pomer is a Mediterranean style modern marina offerng new facilities including a new reception and exchange office, ATM, new toilet facilities and separate section with accessible toilet facility, a laundry, a grocery store that is open during the high season and a charter agency. Boat maintanence facilities were also improved: Quality technical service, crane for boats up to 10 tons, premises for the crew, automated and guarded driveways, car parking, new electrical cabinets on dry berthing, a pumping station for pumping waste water from the vessels and fast WLAN internet access can now be employed by the guests. A new restaurant with its a lovely terrace, and a swimming pool with a pool bar all add to the social life at the marina. The marina also ofers a special storage room in which boaters can store their equipment like bicycles, scooters, surfboards, outboard motors. The “green islands” in the marina that are used for selective waste collection were added and the marina is now equipped with electric power connections of 16 to 63 A.

With the recently added sea-side walkway that goes along the whole marina, you can enjoy the beautifully designed benches, exquisite lighting and the Mediterranean greenery. Even the youngest boaters can entertain themselves inside a playground.

You will be fascinated by Istria’s glorious nature and the sea, the wind and the countryside will make you feel wonderful. The first people to be fascinated by Pomer were the ancient Romans who they built their country villas in this town. And today, this old fishing village continues to be an ideal haven for all those longing for the unspoilt Mediterranean and its natural and culinary delights. The ancient tradition of fish and shell farming is still a means of living here, and yatchers who visit Pomer get the opportunity to taste exquisite seafood cooking, prepared based on recipes that are a thousand years old.

For windsurfing and kitesurfing, the south of Istria is one of the most popular destinations because it is surrounded by sea on three sides, and it’s is very windy all year round. You will probably never see the sea completely calm here. It can be a gale-force southern wind (jugo), the bura, the heavy tramontane, or the strong summer maestrals; either way surfers will always find enough wind and heve a great time in Pomer.

The Medulin Riviera also has one of the most beautiful mountain bike paths in Istria. As you pedal along the nearly 60 kilometre path, you will find yourself in an ever changing scenery, almost like a movie: picturesque villages, forest groves, hilltops offering breathtaking views, narrow paths meandering between the Kamenjak promontory and the thick shrubbery filling the air with aromatic scents of Mediterranean herbs.

Mooring: There are 220 berths for yachts up to 25 meters plus 30 berths along the shore.

Sightseeing: Pula, located on the western shore of Istria near its southern tip, is the largest town in Istria. As well as a touristic attraction, it is an important industrial, and cultural center. Pula is home to many hotels, sports grounds, entertainment programs, recreational facilities, beaches, restaurants and casinos for tourists. It hosts many important yearly events; the Croatian Film Festival every July, the Pop Music Festival “Arena” as well as the Istria Regatta. Every August, there is a rock music festival, Art & Music Festival. There is an international airport only 6 kilometers from Pula. In the harbor area, you will find the Roman Amphitheater (called Arena), from the 1st and 2nd centuries. With a capacity of 23 thousand seats, it is the sixth largest preserved amphitheater in the world. Other important sites are the Triumphal Arch of the Sergi (31BC), the 6th-century mosaics in the collapsed basilica Santa Maria Formosa , the beautiful polyptych in the church of St. Francis and the Temple of Augusts from the 1st century. The Archeological Museum of Istria is also a must-see.

Transport Connections: In the summer ACI Marina Pomer serves as a starting point or a half-way stop for those cruising the Adriatic. Old friends and acquaintances come together in this gentle cove savour the Mediterranean sun during the winter as well. One of the reasons why the marina is so popular is that it is very close to exquisite excursion and recreation destinations including the small islands of Unije, Susak, Velike Srakane and Male Srakane. ACI Marina Pomer has convenient connections to major motorways with Pula Airport located 10 km away and Trieste and Ljubljana airports approximately 130 kilometers from the ciy center.

Approach: The marina is in the northwestern part of Medulin Bay, which opens up between Cape Kamenjak and Cape Marlera. Because there are numerous reefs and shoals, it’s safest to approach through the main channel, sailing east of the islet of Fenera (exact position 44°46.2’ N 13°57.2’ E), and then passing between the islands of Ceja and Bodulaš. As the sea gets much shallower around Bodulaš Island, it is safer to sail closer to Ceja Island. If you’re approaching at night, the course between the islands of Ceja and Bodulaš is marked by the lighthouse on Cape Munat (Fl W R 2s 9m 7/4M). Once deep inside the bay, you can steer toward the middle of the passage between Cape Munat and Cape Kašteja, and then toward the island of Pomerski Školjić, which should be rounded from the east. Then you can see the ACI Marina Pomer. In daylight you can spot it easily by a distinctive white crane.
