Der fjordartige, eine halbe Seemeile tiefe Einschnitt im Südosten Kalymnos‘ bietet an seinem Ende einen Molenkopf für Yachten, an dem sternförmig festgemacht wird, einige wenige Plätze mit geringerer Tiefe befinden sich dahinter, allerdings legen hier auch Ausflugsboote an. Hinter dem Hafenort Rina weitet sich das Tal zur fruchtbaren Ebene, hier ist das landwirtschaftliche Anbaugebiet der Insel, hauptsächlich für Orangen und Mandarinen. Im Hafen befinden sich einige Restaurants, nach Pothia sind es auf der Straße 12km.
