The main harbour of Lakki in Leros may be safe, but Xerokampos bay in the south is a lot more beautiful and significantly more peaceful. On the eastern side of the island you will the find the fishing port of Panteli situated below the Byzantine fortress and, in the next bay over, you can drop anchor on the beach of Vromolithos (see picture below). In the 1930s, the occupying Italian forces developed Lakki as a major naval base, the remnants of which are still visible today. Make sure not to miss the stunning views from Palaeokastro castle.
