Skiathos Marina

Skiathos Marina is situated on the North end of the island main port. The main street featuring cafes, restaurants, and bars, is at a 5-minute walking distance from the quay. Skiathos Marina is situated literally at the heart of this cosmopolitan pine-covered island, at a distance of only 2km. from the island’s airport and heliport.

You can find many quality tavernas, restaurants, cafes and bars by the sea, at just a 5-minute walking distance from the quay, but also in the center of the village. Above the old harbor, you will find exquisite restaurants where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city.

This port can meet the basic needs of its customers with its facilities. Because it is very close to the city, you can have easy access to additional services like laundry, supermarket, medical facilities and restaurants.

Mooring lines are available in the marina. Please do not use your anchor.

In the harbour, moor stern-to on the northern part of the quay. Especially at weekends, when the charter fleet is in, it might be difficult to find free space. At the marina, both the holding and the shelter are good. You are recommended to call ahead and ask for a berth.

The prevailing winds in this area are mostly N-NE at Force 2-5, usually dying down at night.

You must be careful about ferries and hydrofoils. You cannot anchor inside the airport cone (zone). No vessel with height over 4 meters can anchor in the airplanes’ landing path.

Sightseeing: Skiathos will charm you with thick pine forests, the sandy beaches and the vibrant nightlife. Its cosmopolitan atmosphere can build the most charming background for memorable holidays.

In Skiathos, in summer, the main town is where all the action happens. The town crowds with visitors strolling around and dining at the waterfront restaurants every day.

A boat trip to the Medieval Castle and Lalaria, the most exotic beach of the island, should not be missed.

You can visit two charming monasteries, the monastery of Evangelistria and of Kounoupitsa.

At the town center, you can find the intriguing Museum of Papadiamantis, one of the most important Greek scholars.

Koukounaries is the most famous beach of Skiathos but its fame extends beyond the city to whole Europe. Since the sand here is extremely fine and shines under the summer sun, it goes by the name “Chrisi Ammos – Golden Sand”. This beach allures all visitors its deep-blue, crystal-clear waters and offers a unique view with the forest of Koukounaries reaching down to the sea. You can also find many water sports activities.

Situated on the northeastern end of the island, Lalaria is one of the unique and most picturesque beaches of Greece. The steep pure-white cliffs rise impressively over the sea and meet the northern winds. These winds have been creating the round white pebbles called “lalaria” for millions of years, which cover the whole beach.

Banana (originally called Krassa) has pine trees here that blend with the beautiful landscape in a unique way and the sea shines brilliantly under the blazing sun. The beach is a meeting place for many young people since it offers water sports facilities, tavernas and cafeterias full of life and action.
