The insurance cover is only provided for the private use of a charter yacht. A paid skipper will not be covered. The policyholder can only be an individual.
Persons who are domiciled in the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom (UK), Norway or Iceland can be insured. For fiscal/legal reasons, policy holders may not be persons who are domiciled in the United Kingdom (UK), Italy and/or have Italian citizenship. Such persons may however be co-insured as crew members or skippers.
As the policyholder, you can claim your insurance directly from Pantaenius. GotoSailing.com is not the insurer and any claims should be requested directly from Pantaenius.
All premiums specified here are net premiums. The currently valid national insurance tax in your country of residence shall be calculated. This may result in different premiums.
*Applies to the Trip Cancellation Costs Insurance. The minimum deductible is EUR 100 per person, per claim. The minimum deductible in the case of sickness is 20 percent of the refundable claim.
**For insurance reasons, the charter packages do not include travel health insurance for customers residing in Switzerland. The insurance premiums are adjusted accordingly.
Skipper's liability insurance covers damage that is caused to third parties through the use of the chartered motor or sailing yacht and tender by the skipper and crew. Included in the insured risks are damage to other ships and to harbour or jetty installations. Damage arising from gross negligence on the chartered ship and not covered by the lessor's hull insurance is also included. Also included are cover for cancellation of charter, confiscation, hotel and transport costs and financial loss.
Return journey cost insurance reimburses any contractually payable charter cancellation costs and outward and return travel costs arising from the non-availability of a non-commercial skipper or of one or more crew members, or, if the journey is abandoned after commencement, any additionally incurred return journey costs and the relevant portion of the charter costs.
In addition to costs of medical treatment, medication and admission to hospital, foreign travel health insurance reimburses any return ambulance transport to the home country or repatriation costs in case of death.
The Charter Cost Protection covers the insolvency of the agency or the charter company.
The accident insurance in the charter package provides cover in cases of death and invalidity, including a number of aspects that are not protected by general accident insurance. Skipper and crew are insured during private use of the chartered yacht, tenders and watersports equipment and for trips ashore of up to 48 hours.
Bond insurance covers the financial risk in cases where the lessor retains the bond provided, in full or in part –whether or not this is justified.
