Around 800m to the north-east of the harbour in the old town, you will find Barbouni. Its lounge-style terrace looks straight out over the beach and its general ambience makes it a pioneer in the world of modern Greek cuisine. Originally from Thessaloniki, the owner believes firmly in using fresh produce and even bakes his own bread for the restaurant. Dishes such as steamed mussels served with wine, onions, pepper and feta, or calamari Caesar salad reflect his approach to cooking - special mention must go to the marinated sea bass served with mint courgettes, the lobster spaghetti, the freshly grilled sardines and the swordfish souvlaki. You can even buy delicacies to take away with you in the restaurant‘s own shop. Open daily from 11 am, until end of Oct.
