ACI Marina Pula

The marina is open year round. It is located on the eastern shore of the Pula harbor.

Mooring: There are 200 berths for yachts up to 25 meters plus 80 dry berths. The marina is protected from all winds.Mega yachts up to 40 meters in length can also be accommodated.

Sightseeing: Pula, located on the western shore of Istria near its southern tip, is the largest town in Istria . As well as a touristic attraction, it is an important industrial and cultural center. Pula is home to many hotels, sports grounds, entertainment programs, recreational facilities, beaches, restaurants and casinos for tourists. It hosts many important yearly events; the Croatian Film Festival every July, the Pop Music Festival “Arena” as well as the Istria Regatta. Every August, there is a rock music festival Art & Music Festival. There is an international airport only 6 kilometers from Pula. In the harbor area, you will find the Roman Amphitheater (called Arena), from the 1st and 2nd centuries. With a capacity of 23 thousand seats, it is the sixth largest preserved amphitheater in the world. Other important sites are the Triumphal Arch of the Sergi (31BC), the 6th-century mosaics in the collapsed basilica Santa Maria Formosa , the beautiful polyptych in the church of St. Francis and the Temple of Augusts from the 1st century. The Archeological Museum of Istria is also a must-see.

As Istria’s largest city, Pula is rich with historical sights, the most monumental of which is the Roman amphitheatre with its millennia-long history. Locally known as the Arena, it is one of the best-preserved Roman Imperial buildings in the world. The big natural harbour that is being used since early Antiquity periods, served as the main naval harbour during the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The ACI marina lies at the heart of this historic harbour, only metres away from the Arena, with a capacity of 194 boat berths (moorings). Pula International Airport is only 5 kilometers away.

The Brijuni Islands add to the beauty and charm of Pula. These islands were once among the most exquisite summer resorts frequented by influential figures like emperors, presidents, world leaders and stars of Hollywood’s golden age. For thousands of years Pula has been both a centre of Istria and a gateway to it. If you want to explore the natural, cultural and culinary attractions of the peninsula, it is one of the ideal starting points. You will find that the peninsula is like an untouched version of Tuscany.

Pula is also famous for havins the world’s largest amphorae find site. More than two thousand of these unique artifacts that were used for storing and transporting olive oil, wine, salted fish and preserved fruit, were found in the waters around Pula. You can see a permanent exhibition of these in the under ground passages of the Pula Amphitheater.

Today Pula hosts several important summer music festivals, the largest film festival in the region and regular performances by international music stars. And the Brijuni Islands are home to a special theatre company whose first performances are attended by Hollywood’s and Europe’s A-list celebrities.
