The Riva on Hvar has many facets. From the restaurant terrace of the DiVino, you have probably the best sea view of the Pakleni islands. Situated at the south-east end of the harbour bay, far from the crowds, great value is placed on detail and indigenous fare, both in the wine list and the menu. There is maize soup with black truffles and caramelized popcorn, for example, or the surf & turf Monkfish, baked with bacon. Or the leg of lamb with potato mousse, mousse of berries & blackcurrant juice. In the winecellar, a representative cross-section of outstanding Croatian vintages lies in store. Wine tastings for small groups can be arranged. Open Apr. 25 to Oct. 15., 10 to 3 p.m. and 5. 30 p.m. til 1a.m.. In the wineshop international and local wines & produce are on offer.
