The Monastery of the Archangel Michael Panormitis is the most important landmark of Symi as it is a place of pilgrimage for the sailors. There is a small sandy beach in the well protected bay, and you can find a bakery and cafés inside the monastery. Numerous excursion boats stop at the mole (depth is 1.9m).
