Even if the anchoring is not the best, the bay in the island of Marathos, to the west of Arkoi, is a favourite mooring, with its long sandy beach. The few tavernes on the shore do have rooms, but nevertheless the ferry connections to Arkoi, which is about one nautical mile away, are practically non-existent. And so the beach is more or less reserved for the yachts, which can tie up to the buoys whose colours show which tavernes they belong to. Boats with lesser draught can also moor at the two restaurant jetties.
